About Connor

In 2012, Connor was in 6th grade at Lincoln Jr High School when he noticed a lump on his right hand.  A biopsy confirmed a diagnosis of Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer.

We sought treatment at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago due to an oncology physician on staff who specializes in the treatment of Rhabdomyosarcoma.  Connor’s treatment protocol consisted of 54 weeks of intense chemotherapy and radiation.

He was cancer free for almost a year but it returned in 2015 when he was in 8th grade.  He went through another two years of chemotherapy and radiation.  The cancer returned a second time in the summer of 2017 prior to his junior year at Naperville Central High School.

In early October of 2017 a CT scan revealed the disease had progressed and our family received the devastating news there were no known curable treatment options left.  Connor passed away peacefully on February 13, 2018 at the age of 17.  He battled this disease for more than five years with an incredible amount of strength, courage and grace.
